book synopsis

“Nursing Chose Me: Called to an Art of Compassion” is a first person narrative that follows the journey of a fledgling new graduate in her early twenties through her experiences in medical/surgical wards and ICU, to float nursing, to working in a nursing home, then as a college clinical instructor, a college professor, and eventually to a family practice and psychiatric practice as a dual-certified Nurse Practitioner.

These stories chronicle the evolution of feelings of insecurity and intimidation, to a confidence that enables a nurse to advocate on behalf of their patients.

You will laugh and cry and feel the angst of the real life of a nurse challenged to wear many different hats along the way — with one common theme throughout — patients are our greatest teachers!
